The It List: ‘Puppy Bowl’ cuteness, ‘Fake Famous’ mints artificial influencers, and more pop culture highlights of the week
The It List is Yahoo’s weekly look at the best in pop culture. With the Coronavirus pandemic in mind here are our picks for the week of February 1st.
It’s a good boy bonanza with this year’s best TV counterprogramming - Puppy Bowl XVII. It premieres Sunday Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. on Animal Planet.
Fake Famous premieres Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. on HBO. The documentary follows three relatively “regular” people and attempts to turn them into social media influencers - for better or for worse.
Bliss premieres Friday, Feb. 5 on Amazon Prime Video. The movie seems to be inspired by the oft-repeated saying regarding ignorance and it stars Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek as people who live in two realities - one stunningly perfect, the other depressingly gritty.

It's a good boy bonanza with this year's best TV counterprogramming-- "Puppy Bowl XVII." If you couldn't care less about the Chiefs or Buccaneers, or maybe you just hate Tom Brady, then let these cute puppers add a different kind of super to your Sunday. Just like in past years, it's Team Ruff versus Team Fluff, as 70 adoptable puppy players face off in the ultimate low-stakes competition.
Although if you're feeling something more feline, Hallmark has you covered with, no joke, "Kitten Bowl VIII." If last year's game is any indication, it should be quite the nail-- claw-biter.
- There's a big bounce off the fling swing, barking towards the end zone, and pay day for [INAUDIBLE] and the [INAUDIBLE].
- Back in the realm of humankind, HBO has a new documentary that explores the rise of the social media influencer and how it might be easy to fake. "Fake Famous" follows three relatively regular people and attempts to turn them into stars, for better or worse.

- The new movie "Bliss" is the latest entry in the simulated reality genre made famous by "The Matrix." Inspired by the oft-repeated saying regarding ignorance, the movie stars Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek who live in two realities-- one stunningly perfect, the other depressingly gritty. As you can imagine, the line between each world grows increasingly blurry.
