The It List: The Irish accents of 'Wild Mountain Thyme,' reality show drama in 'House of Ho,' and more pop culture highlights of the week

The It List is Yahoo’s weekly look at the best in pop culture. With the Coronavirus pandemic in mind, here are our picks for the week of December 7th.

Wild Mountain Thyme, a romantic drama starring Emily Blunt and Jamie Dornan and set in verdant Ireland, premieres Friday, Dec. 11 in theaters and on VOD.

The new HBO Max House of Ho show follows the wealthy Ho family in Texas and promises a real-life version of Crazy Rich Asians. House of Ho premieres Thursday, Dec. 10 on HBO Max.

And since Christmas is fast approaching, NBC has a new version of Dr. Seuss’s classic Grinch tale. This time, Glee alum Matthew Morrison plays the green menace in the musical spectacle, which premieres Wednesday, Dec. 9 on NBC.

New movie, "Wild Mountain Thyme," can be called many things-- bucolic, picturesque, verdant-- but early critics are already calling out some of its Irish accents as cringy at best.

- To take after John Kelly, and that man was mad as the full moon. Drowned himself.

- He fell in.

- He had a rock tied to his neck.

- Christopher Walken's accent aside, the movie pits Jon Hamm against Jamie Dornan as they vie for the affection of Emily Blunt. And based on the rainy yet romantic artwork, we are getting serious "Notebook" vibes.

- You kissed him.

- It was he that kissed me!

- That's what got him worked up!

- And now for the most perfectly named reality show of all time-- yes, I'm talking about "House of Ho." The new HBO Max show follows the wealthy Ho family in Texas, and promises a real-life version of "Crazy Rich Asians."

- What do you think of the decor, Leslie?

- Uh, less is more.

- You're definitely not a Ho.

- Why?

- More is more.

- Expect plenty of high drama bickering, luxury cars, and homemade Vietnamese food.

- And since Christmas is fast approaching, NBC has a new version of Dr. Seuss's classic "Grinch" tale. Previously, the Network's musicals have included "Hairspray," featuring Ariana Grande, "Peter Pan," featuring Allison Williams, and "The Sound of Music," featuring Carrie Underwood.
