Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is swiftly on its way out, with Lisa Vanderpump sharing just some small teases ahead of the upcoming reunion. Hard to believe Season 11 is already coming to a close. What even happened this season?

Well, Bravo attempted a redemption arc for Tom Sandoval. At least, that’s the way viewers have felt it’s gone down. Of course, there’s still time left in the season, and anything could happen at this point.

But can the remaining episodes redeem the first half of the season? It seems unlikely. If the remaining episodes are good, it will be despite the first half of the season, not because of it. If Season 11 is a slow burn, then the reunion will mirror it, according to Lisa.

LVP on the VPR reunion and “defending” Tom

“It starts a little slow and it kind of builds,” Lisa told Us Weekly regarding the recently filmed Season 11 reunion. “Then it ends up with us all in tears.” However, on top of the reunion, a good chunk of Lisa’s conversation with Us Weekly centered around claims that she defended Tom in the face of Scandoval.

“If I was defending him, I’d be saying what he did was OK,” Lisa argued. “What he did was not OK. But a lot of other people [on the show] have done it. So if you look at statistics of infidelity, he didn’t kill anybody.” Kind of a weird thing for someone who’s not defending him to say, but okay. “So yes, the way he did it [and] the way he handled it was all wrong.”

She continued ‘not defending’ Sandoval by saying the hate “was everywhere and that’s too much for one person to handle.” She added, “Also there’s a lot of things about Tom Sandoval – so many good things – he’s done that have always kind of gone unnoticed. … He’s not a bad person and that’s what he was being treated like. He did a bad thing.”

Lisa went on to say that she loved the entire cast and wanted to maintain cohesion. “And as a mother figure to them [to] see them grown up, I think any person in that position would always try to get everybody to try and really have a better understanding of each other’s actions.” Except for Rachel Leviss apparently.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
