The Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion got underway on Tuesday, May 14. Fans knew it would be a rocky reunion going in, but Lisa Vanderpump felt that more than anyone else.
Before the reunion officially aired, the cast was teasing a pretty tense scene. Lala Kent and Ariana Madix reportedly got into a feud to finally end their friendship, with the fight’s subject likely being Tom Sandoval.
When the reunion began, the cast wasted no time. They addressed the house, Sandoval’s terrible comments to PR, and the crumbling friendships within the group. But reportedly, that was only the tip of the iceberg.
Lisa explains the problem with Scandoval
In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Lisa teased what more fans could expect from the ongoing reunion. “The reunion, it definitely had a different flavor,” she began. And I think that that’s one of the things that really works about Vanderpump Rules. It keeps evolving. And I think that everybody’s pretty smart on their feet in production.”
She continued, “The fact that it can make these twists and turns; and we have to break the fourth wall much more because the whole world was talking about Scandoval. It wasn’t just this group. So we had to talk about that. I think there were feelings – there was resentment – from some of the cast. There was almost some kind of hypocrisy. And it wasn’t easy at all.”
With that in mind, she segued into the show’s much-discussed hiatus. “That’s why I think the show needs to breathe a little bit. It needs to settle down so we’re not just talking about the same thing.” Many audience members likely agreed with that sentiment. Lisa then supposed, “I think it’s going to be a little bit later on this year.”
The Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion continues Tuesday, May 21, at 8/7c on Bravo.
