Lisa Vanderpump Confirms Quitting 'RHOBH' Over Puppygate

Lisa Vanderpump shocked viewers when she disappeared halfway through this past season of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.' Despite her lack of presence, Lisa Vanderpump was a big presence on 'RHOBH' season 9. Her costars believed that Lisa Vanderpump framed Dorit Kemsley with a fake story exaggerating her decision to return a dog her family to Vanderpump Dogs rescue center after it bit her family. Lisa Vanderpump confirms that the "puppygate" scandal was the straw that broke the camel's back and lead to her ultimately quitting the show.

“It was very difficult, the whole situation. [They] all started coming at me and it was all based around the whole dog fiasco. It got too b*tchy and I just suddenly thought, ‘That’s it, I’m done,’” Vanderpump explained on Access Daily. “I had so much going on. I was opening TomTom, Vanderpump Rules is a big show, we have the dog rescue center, we were opening in Vegas. There was just so much and when it all kind of piled on top of me, and I was emotionally depleted anyway, I just said, ‘You know what? I’m done,’” she added.

Lisa Vanderpump summed up the whole experience by stating, “It was a very sad year for me with losing my brother and everything. I was very honest about that and [I was] struggling with depression." She cut ties with her friends after Kyle Richards showed up in Vanderpump's Beverly Hills home and reported that she [Kyle] and the rest of her friends believe that Lisa fabricated the story to make Dorit look mad. Vanderpump told Hollywood Life that she's unsure of whether she will make up with Kyle Richards, “I’m literally going back and forth, and 100 times I’m going back and forth and just carrying on. Lisa Vanderpump went to great lengths to prove her innocence to her friends. She took a lie detector test to prove that she didn't try to extrapolate puppygate. While the episode aired, Vanderpump tweeted, "So it was scary in front of camera crew, but yes I passed it twice." While it is still unclear whether Lisa Vanderpump was innocent, she visibly went through a difficult time on 'RHOBH' and ultimately did not regret her decision of quitting mid-season.
