Not everyone is concerned about the Vanderpump Rules production hiatus. Lisa Vanderpump just doubled down on the decision and said that the show needs “to breathe.” You don’t hear this often, but LVP might be right.

Pumped for a pause

Bravo confirmed that Pump Rules would deviate from its normal filming schedule this summer and take a pause. Some fans interpreted that news as a series cancellation, but sources close to the show confirmed that wasn’t the case. VPR will return for Season 12 in some capacity, and Lisa recently shared with E! News why this break felt necessary.

“Vanderpump Rules is on hiatus just for a little bit,” Lisa confirmed. “Let it breathe. I think we were going around in circles for a little bit.”

Spoken like a true executive producer. If the cameras picked up for another round of VPR, we would get a repeat of Season 11. Nobody wants to see that.

Other than LVP, the only other VPR cast member who seems optimistic about the filming hiatus is Ariana Madix. She recently confirmed that Broadway is her “number one thing” right now. Airing her life out on reality TV is on the back burner — especially if she’s going to be forced to work with her chaotic ex-partner who cheated on her.

Of course, a production pause for Vanderpump Rules is a lot less scary for LVP and Ariana than it is for some of the other cast mates. They have a dozen other jobs outside of this show. We won’t name names, but some other VPR cast members aren’t as lucky. It’s going to be a long summer for them.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 airs on Tuesday nights at 8/7c on Bravo.
