A quarter-century may have passed since The Parent Trap was released, but Lisa Ann Walter and Elaine Hendrix still want the best for their costar Lindsay Lohan.

That’s why when Lohan, 37, revealed that she and husband Bader Shammas welcomed their first baby, a boy named Luai, in July 2023, Walter made sure to reach out.

Walter, 60, says that she contacted fellow costar Lohan “via social media” upon the news of Luai's birth.

"She posted something and I think it was about being tired, and I immediately go into that mom mode of 'nap when he does, make sure you get sleep, it doesn't matter what you look like — you're in great shape,' just all the advice that comes out," says Walter. "But she's just doing so well."

The actress, who spoke with PEOPLE alongside Hendrix about their longstanding friendship in conjunction with Ancestry's new YouTube series unFamiliar, says that she “sent something to [Lohan's] dad [Michael Lohan] to get to her next time he sees her,” which she then further describes as "a little package and a letter."

Walter adds of Lohan, "She looks so happy and so healthy and I'm so thrilled for her.”

In the beloved 1998 movie, Lohan played twins Hallie and Annie, who were separated at a young age amid their parents' divorce. Walter starred as Chessy, the twins' father Nick's (Dennis Quaid) housekeeper, while Hendrix portrayed Meredith, a younger woman who is engaged to Nick.

According to the Abbott Elementary star, Lohan showed her maternal nature at a much earlier age.

"I knew she was going to be a good mother when we worked with her because she walked around with her little brother, that little two-year-old Dakota [Lohan],” Walter tells PEOPLE. "And she would just walk around with him on her hip carrying him around. She was very good to her brothers and sister."

The sentiment about Lohan’s family is echoed by Hendrix, 52, who adds, “Yeah. They're very tight. All the siblings are very tight-knit.”

Lohan and Shammas announced the arrival of their son in a statement to PEOPLE in July. A rep for the actress said at the time that "the family is over the moon in love."
