Lionsgate Taps Gisela Asimus-Minnbergh for TV Sales Post

Lionsgate has hired veteran exec Gisela Asimus-Minnbergh to the newly-created position of VP of alternative programming sales ahead of Mipcom.

She will report to Senior VP of Alternative Programming Sales Ted Bookstaver. At Mipcom, she will be selling the company’s first unscripted broadcast series, “Kicking & Screaming” — a survival competition show from “Fear Factor” producer Matt Kunitz debuting on Fox in January.

Lionsgate has retained all international format rights to the series. “As Lionsgate continues the robust expansion of its alternative programming slate, we are continuing to build a team of sales executives who can identify and capitalize on distribution opportunities around the world,” Bookstaver said.

Lionsgate’s television roster of nearly 80 shows on 40 different U.S. networks includes “Orange Is the New Black” on Netflix, “Casual” on Hulu, “The Royals” on E!, “Nashville” on CMT/Hulu, “Greenleaf” on OWN, and the upcoming “Revenge Body with Khloe Kardashian” on E!

Asimus-Minnbergh previously served as sales director of television distribution for eight years at Endemol and senior sales executive at Southern Star International for a decade, managing all sales of finished programs and formats. Most recently, she negotiated acquisitions and partnerships with BBC Worldwide and PBS International for Viking Cruises.
