The Lionheart HBO Max streaming release date is around the corner, and viewers are wondering when they can start streaming the documentary.
Directed and produced by Laura Brownson, The Lionheart is a documentary film about the late motor racing driver Dan Wheldon. The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 10, 2023. Here’s when the documentary is coming out on HBO Max.
When is The Lionheart HBO Max release date?
The Lionheart HBO Max release date is Tuesday, March 12, 2024. The documentary will also debut on HBO that day at 9 p.m. ET.
Titled after Wheldon’s nickname, The Lionheart delves into the life of the two-time Indy 500 Champion and his tragic death at the IZOD IndyCar World Championship in Las Vegas in 2011. The film also focuses on Wheldon’s two sons as they follow in their father’s footsteps into the world of racing over a decade after his death and the family’s response to it.
Wheldon appears in the film via archive footage. Some of the other members of the cast are Susie Wheldon, Oliver Wheldon, Sebastian Wheldon, Dario Franchitti, Tony Kanaan, and more.
When is The Lionheart coming out via streaming?
The Lionheart is available to watch via streaming on HBO Max on March 12, 2024. Viewers will be able to stream it at this time.
Current Max subscribers will be able to watch the series when it airs.
The Lionheart’s official synopsis reads:
“The on-track death of two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dan Wheldon shook motorsports to its core. Ten years later, Wheldon’s sons Sebastian and Oliver follow in their father’s footsteps, working through their grief behind the wheel at 200 MPH.”
