Is Lionel Richie Starting to Accept Sofia Richie's Relationship with Scott Disick?
Sofia Richie and Scott Disick have been dating for about two years now. Lionel Richie initially spoke out against his daughter's relationship, but is that all changing?
Scott Disick had dated Kourtney Kardashian and had three kids together. The two had been dating on and off from 2006 to early 2017, and Disick was featured prominently on 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians.' Kourtney has dropped hints that she still isn't over Disick.
He got with Sofia Richie not long after splitting with Kourtney.

Despite the 15 year age difference, Sofia Richie and Disick began dating in 2017. According to Perez Hilton, Lionel Richie initially did not approve of their relationship.
“She’s 19. When you’re 19 you know everything. Is it going to be for life? I don’t know. But for right now it’s just a phase and I’m going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise," Lionel Richie told Australia’s Daily Telegraph.

“He is a really honest, up front kind of guy and feels like his father-daughter relationship with Sofia is more important than anything so he’s trying to be there for Sofia and to be supportive of her despite his reservations about her relationship. They all had a really great holiday together though and progress is for sure being made between Lionel and Scott.”
The source also announced that he has finally accepted his daughter's relationship, "Lionel has accepted their relationship but still isn’t entirely 100 percent on board with Scott mostly because of the age difference and how young Sofia is. Lionel can see how happy Sofia is though so he is definitely making more of an effort with Scott.”
“Scott and Sofia are still together and all is well for now. They spent Thanksgiving with Lionel Richie and they all flew together on his private jet for their holiday trip," the source reported.
A different insider spoke on behalf of Disick to US Weekly.
“Since Scott is a father himself, he recognizes the importance of a close bond with his children and would never want to harm the relationship between Lionel [Richie] and [the singer’s daughter] Sofia, especially because Scott’s parents have both passed away. He values family above all else and will always look to build a bond with Sofia and her family, and would never want to detract from it," the source said.
