LGBTQ+ festival Gaytimes have shared the first line-up announcement for their 2024 iteration, which will once again take place in Gembrook, Victoria over three days in late February. Among the dozens of musicians, DJs and performers on the line-up are Mo’Ju, June Jones, Total Giovanni, Bec Stevens, Miss Kannina and CC:Disco!. The full line-up can be found below.

Self-described as “the camping festival of your big gay dreams,” Gaytimes first ran in 2016. In a statement regarding their outlook, the festival’s organisers describe Gaytimes as “an inclusive festival that welcomes all the colours of the rainbow.” “We pride ourselves on curating an eclectic and diverse lineup that represents people from a broad range of identities, backgrounds and music styles,” they wrote.

“Gaytimes isn’t just about music, either. It is a weekend getaway of performance art, visual art, light projections, community, self-expression, sexuality, yoga and more. We aim to create a space for LGTBIQ people to come together and be themselves.”

Mo’Ju – ‘Change Has To Come’

Mo’Ju’s announcement on the line-up comes fresh from their nomination in the 2023 Australian Music Prize shortlist. Mo’Ju’s fourth studio album Oro, Plata, Mata was one of nine albums that were nominated for the prize, which was ultimately won by RVG for their third studio album Brain Worms.

June Jones, meanwhile, released her latest single ‘Bubblegum’ in October. Described by her as “the second release in a series that I am (possibly prematurely) calling my Desire Era”, it is lifted from her as-yet-untitled fourth studio album, which Jones intends to release in 2024.
