Lindsey Vonn proposed to P.K. Subban and gave him an engagement ring
Former Olympic gold medalist skier Lindsey Vonn won’t let tradition get in the way of her relationship. Though she’s been engaged to New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban since the summer, Vonn wanted to do something nice for her future husband on their second anniversary.
Vonn decided to buy an engagement ring and propose to Subban, because, “Women aren’t the only ones who should get engagement rings!”
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!! On our 2 year anniversary, in a “non traditional” move, I asked PK to marry me and he said, Yes ☺️! Women aren’t the only ones who should get engagement rings! #MerryChristmas #equality pic.twitter.com/hhdm85RoWi

Vonn revealed the news in a Twitter post on Christmas. The first photo features Subban, Vonn and the couple’s dogs in front of the Christmas tree. The second photo shows off Subban’s engagement ring. Vonn referred to the gesture as “non-traditional.”
The two have been engaged since August. They detailed their engagement in a story with Vogue. Subban purchased a ring with an emerald — Vonn’s birthstone — in it and proposed to Vonn. The pair hasn’t decided on an exact wedding date, but Vonn said the couple was looking at summer of 2020.
Until then, they’ll both have engagement rings to show off to friends and family.
