Holiday: For those who don't like classical or holiday music, Lindsey Stirling might just make you a fan. This classically trained violinist also blends electronic-dance, pop and rock into her sound. Her 2022 album "Snow Waltz" was a mix of holiday classics and original songs, but it also featured a Celtic-inspired performance of the classic, "Joy to the World."

Since appearing on "America's Got Talent" in 2010, Stirling has released six albums, two of which are holiday music and won two Billboard Music Awards.

Stirling will perform Saturday at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa.

Magic: John Shryock and Mari Lynn are renowned for putting on magic shows that feature illusion fused with dance, drama and comedy. Shryock's talents have led him to perform on the TV series "Masters Of Illusion" and at former president George W. Bush's the inaugural ball. When he's not performing, he's a guest lecturer for several magicians' societies.

Rock: For those interested in taking in some local music, Coachella Valley bands Waxy, The Hellions and Greasetrap will perform Saturday night at The Hood Bar and Pizza. Since forming over two decades ago, The Hellions have performed a straightforward style of punk rock mostly inspired by the Norwegian band Turbonegro.

Waxy, led by Robbie Waldman, exemplifies the desert rock sound and its continued influence on a new generation of bands from the Coachella Valley. The band's most recent album "Betting On Forgetting" features a variety of heavily distorted and melodic vocals.

Visual artist Kylie Knight is also the lead vocalist for the punk rock band, Greasetrap, who were included in a 2013 PBS article about bands in the Coachella Valley. The music was described as "Loud, fast, quiet, slow, ups and downs, highs and lows. Punk rock, palm trees, sunshine, surf breaks."

Sunday

Pop: You may recognize actress Sky Ferreira from indie films such as "Elvis & Nixon," "Lords of Chaos" and the recent Netflix film "Reptile," but she's also a pop singer and released the 2013 album "Night Time, My Time." Her new album, "Masochism," is due out soon. Even though there has been a long wait, she has dropped the singles "Don't Forget" and "Downhill Lullaby." Ferreira has also performed at music festivals around the world, including Desert Daze at Lake Perris in 2022.

Ferreira will perform Sunday at Pappy and Harriet's.
