Linden developer unveils luxury rentals on NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor line

LINDEN – A grand opening was held last week for a new rental community just steps from the train station here.

Mayor Derek Armstead joined representatives of Accurate Builders & Developers, fellow municipal officials and others for the Dec. 9 grand opening of Citizen Linden, a collection of 234 modern rental units at 307 West Elizabeth Ave.

Leasing has begun at Citizen Linden, which features an offering of lifestyle amenities, 4,500 square feet of onsite retail and an enclosed 292-space parking garage.

Armstead helped cut the ceremonial ribbon at the community, officially launching its leasing program.

“In Linden, we are certainly no strangers to development, but I can say that Citizen Linden is one of the nicest of the new developments we have in town,” Armstead said. “Creating a project of this caliber requires a sense of collaboration, allowing everyone to come together for the common good. We have lowered taxes five years in a row, and the opening of this development will certainly assist in stabilizing taxes on a long-term basis. We are glad that the development team chose to work in Linden, and we look forward to seeing the building fill up quickly.”

Citizen Linden was designed by Thomas J. Brennan Architects whose founder grew up in the city and graduated from Linden High School.

“I have a personal connection to Linden and was delighted to work on this project which brings a modern, urban design to a city that has so much to offer its residents,” Tom Brennan said. “The apartments are open and airy, and through a collaborative effort with the interior designer and landscape architect on behalf of Accurate Builders and Developers, we collectively created a community atmosphere that appeals to today’s residents.”

Citizen Linden features plank flooring, 9-foot ceilings and an in-residence washer and dryer are found in every home.

A full complement of amenities is available to residents, including a lobby lounge, separate resident lounge with a fireplace and demonstration kitchen, a state-of-the-art fitness center with virtual fitness capabilities, and multiple co-working spaces and conference rooms. Outdoor spaces include two furnished and landscaped courtyards with lounge seating, grilling and dining areas, firepits and a bar with a television. Residents will also have access to Citizen Linden’s on-site dog park, bicycle share and storage and private covered parking.

“Citizen Linden meets the increased demand in today’s market for luxury rental residences in a thriving downtown location with convenient mass-transit access,” Jacqueline Urgo, President of The Marketing Directors, said. “It’s a striking, thoughtfully-designed community that we expect to have widespread appeal.”
