Throughout her years as one of the world’s biggest supermodels, Linda Evangelista captured millions with her work. One part of her success that the world might not be as familiar with, however, is that Evangelista worked with someone just as special behind-the-scenes: photographer Steven Meisel.
As it turns out, the model and the photographer first met in 1987 and were basically inseparable, both personally and professionally, ever since. “We clicked,” Evangelista told the Wall Street Journal.

Now, decades into their friendship, there two are getting ready to release their first book: titled Linda Evangelista Photographed by Steven Meisel. The book, which is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for 7%, aims to take fashion lovers through their journey together over the years.
“Evident from their first photoshoot in 1987, legendary photographer Steven Meisel’s images of Linda Evangelista, one of the original ‘supermodels’ of the 1980s, are the result of a remarkable creative symbiosis between photographer and muse,” reads the official description.

Evangelista, who recently opened up about being diagnosed with breast cancer two times in the past five years to People, talked about her excitement over the release in a recent interview with WSJ. “I’m totally in celebration mode,” she told the outlet.
“I’ve come through some horrible health issues,” she continued. “I’m at a place where I’m so happy celebrating my book, my life. I’m so happy to be alive. Anything that comes now is bonus.”
