Lincoln Park student Gabriella Salvucci releases new album, backed by notable Pittsburgh musicians

PITTSBURGH − She's a Beaver County high school senior releasing a sophomore album.

Get ready for Gabriella Salvucci, the 17-year-old Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School student whose "Peace Offering" comes out Friday on major platforms, distributed by Pittsburgh label Misra Records.

The album's seven tracks are piano-driven pop, mainly ballads, showcasing Salvucci's commanding voice. The title track and album cut "Mad Medusa" have already aired on Pittsburgh's Adult Album Alternative station, 91.3-WYEP.

Salvucci co-wrote "Mad Medusa" with Pittsburgh native Dave Pahanish, who's written chart-toppers for Keith Urban and Toby Keith.

Salvucci's backing band on the album includes Anton DeFade, Cole Insko and Lucas Bowman, all of Pittsburgh's gone-national soul-rock band the Commonheart, while Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers' lead guitarist Danny Gochnour also appears on a few tracks.

Salvucci, of Oakdale, will feature the new songs in an album release show from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Bridge Music Bar, 6018 Broad St., in Pittsburgh's East Liberty neighborhood.

"Over the past year, I’ve spent most of my time working on my songwriting, collaborating with other musicians and performing whenever I can," Salvucci said. "I love learning and growing as an artist, and I think that 'Peace Offering' really shows the growth I’ve made so far. This record details the love, loss, and frustration I’ve felt over the past few years. I hope that listeners are able to interpret these songs in their own ways, but also connect to the true meaning behind them."

Misra Records manager Jeff Betten said, "She's still only 17, but it's crazy to listen to this music and hear how much Gabriella has grown from just her debut EP last year. Of course, this was the plan all along, when I heard WYEP play "Hoax" and they announced that she was only 15, I knew that there was some incredible potential. Obviously, she's attracting some pretty heavy hitters, too. Misra is super proud of her."
