The Lily James And Matt Smith Split Is Getting Messier
Though the rumors have yet to be confirmed, it's pretty common knowledge that Matt Smith and Lily James have split up after five years together.
They were last seen having a very tense lunch together at The Spaniards Inn in Highgate, London. The walked down the street with angry looks on their faces, no physical contact, and with Matt walking several steps ahead. Clearly, there was not much, if any, love left between the two and they have yet to be seen together since.

Matt Smith and Claire Foy
Rumors have swirled that Matt was getting too close to Claire Foy, his co-star in The Crown. The very close friends have been seen looking extremely coupley in the last couple of years; they've attended awards shows together, had romantic looking dinners, and strolled down the street looking as if they were 5-year-old children at Disney World.
It's obvious they enjoy each other's company, and Matt's girlfriend Lily had her worries about them, as any woman would upon seeing the photos.
Lily James Is Not Sitting At Home Crying
It appears, however, that Lily James is not letting rumors of a relationship between her ex-boyfriend and Claire Foy get in her head or bring her down.
She's been spotted out and about looking happy and beautiful as ever. Just last week she attended the British Fashion Awards wearing an extravagant gown and a wide smile. And, true to any good breakup revenge, Lily was seen leaving an after-party for the awards with Max Ianeselli.
Not only that, but she posted a series of Instagram photos from a girl's trip to South Africa.
Lily Might Be Getting Close To Her Mamma Mia 2 Co-Star
It appears things are getting even more complicated in the split between Matt Smith and Lily James, as Matt is not the only one who has moved on.
Lily has reportedly been getting close to Josh Dylan, her co-star in the 2017 movie Mamma Mia! 2. The two got quite close on set, with Matt even flying out to Croatia, fearing something may have been going on between the two. A source told the Daily Mail, "Matt flew straight there to make sure everything was OK."

Charlotte Griffiths, reporting for The Mail On Sunday, wrote, "Lily put Matt’s mind at ease but, if she is single again, friends believe Josh would be the obvious man to turn to for consolation."
She continued, "Lily certainly looks much happier in my snaps of her larking about with Josh than she did last week when she was pictured during a reportedly strained meeting with Matt at a North London pub – their first public outing for four months."
Clearly, Lily is not letting the split with Matt keep her in hiding, as she recently attended a masterclass at the International Film Festival and Awards Macao 2019.
Have both Matt and Lily already moved on? We'll have to see if the rumors and speculation come out as a fact. But with rumors about both of them seeing other people, it appears their split is getting pretty complicated.
