Lily Gladstone Wore a Cape Fit for a Leading Star at Miniseries Premiere

In just a short matter of time, Lily Gladstone has proven herself one to watch. Thanks to her stirring performance as Mollie Burkhart in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, Gladstone earned a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, becoming the first Indigenous star to do either. And while Gladstone’s acting is powerful, her fashion has proven a force to be reckoned with, as well.

The latest proof was in the ensemble she wore for the premiere of Under the Bridge on Monday night. In the new Hulu miniseries, the Piegan Blackfeet actor leads the cast as a police officer investigating the murder of a teenage girl—and her outfit was certainly befitting someone with a top billing.

On the red carpet, Gladstone wore an eye-catching ensemble styled by Jason Rembert. At the base of her fit, she sported a jet black button-up, tucked into matching high-waisted slacks and paired with pointy black heels.

As a subdued base, these monochromatic pieces allowed Gladstone’s brilliant cape from Himikalas Pamela Baker to shine. The vibrant coat, which debuted at the 2023 Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week, included panels of silky black material that were stitched alongside swirls of red, white, camel, and baby blue, along with a motif of eyes. All across the bottom of the coat was a repeating pattern of faces, which continued along the collar, where a collection of tiny stitched sequins added a dynamic shift to the material.

To round out the look, the actor accessorized with a pair of dangly black leather earrings, and her hair was tied into a low knot at the back of her head. It seems fair to say that after a series of winning looks for the Killers of the Flower Moon press tour (and award season), clearly Gladstone isn’t slowing down any time soon.
