Lily Gladstone is getting sent down “Under the Bridge” to see about this murder.

Gladstone is following up her Academy Award-nominated breakout performance in “Killers of the Flower Moon” with “Under the Bridge,” a Hulu limited series premiering April 17. Hulu released a trailer for the gloomy true crime drama on Monday.

The trailer, with its eerie score, dark dialogue about missing and murdered young women, and focus on an uneasy partnership between two investigators, feels like it could be part of the “True Detective” universe. Gladstone plays a local cop haunted by the unsolved murder of a teenage girl, and Riley Keough (who also serves as executive producer) plays a journalist writing a book on the case.

Here’s the official synopsis from Hulu: “‘Under the Bridge’ is based on acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the 1997 true story of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey (Emmy nominee Keough) and a local police officer (Gladstone), the series takes us into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder — revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.”

Keough is playing a fictionalized version of the real Rebecca Godfrey, who died of lung cancer in 2022 shortly after the series was announced.

In addition to Keough, Gladstone, and Gupta, the series stars Chloe Guidry, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Izzy G., Aiyana Goodfellow, Ezra Faroque Khan, and Archie Panjabi

The series is written and executive-produced by Quinn Shephard (“Not Okay”). Other executive producers include Samir Mehta, “Little Fires Everywhere” EP Liz Tigelaar, director Geeta Vasant Patel, Stacey Silverman, Tara Duncan, Gina Gammell, and Godfrey.

“Under the Bridge” premieres on Hulu with two episodes on Wednesday, April 17, with new episodes released weekly after that. The series will consist of eight episodes.
