How much of a story can you tell with nine words? It'd have to be something pretty simple, like, "Mark went to the store and bought red peppers," right? Apparently not. On Sunday, Elon Musk, Ivanka Trump, and Lilly Wachowski played out an entire little drama with just nine words. Here's the play text:

Musk tweeted "Take the red pill," and was quote-tweeted by Ivanka Trump, who replied "Taken!" Wachowski then brought their little love fest to a quick close by replying "Fuck both of you." Fin.

There's a little backstory. Wachowski and her sister Lana directed films and series including V for Vendetta, Sense8, and, most famously, The Matrix. The movie can be read as an elegant trans allegory, but a bunch of Men's Rights-types decided to latch on to its depiction of red and blue pills that respectively awaken the takers to the horrifying truth of reality or allow them to return to blissful ignorance, and turned "taking the red pill" into a meme that signifies you're hip to the fact that feminists rule the world/libs are bad/whatever fringe right-wing internet community floats your boat.

Musk was likely referring to his efforts to thwart the California lockdown and reopen his Tesla factory. He wants us all to take the red pill and transform from being sheeple who are horrified about the epidemic ravaging the nation and killing tens of thousands our friends and family members, back into little economic engine drivers hitting up Panera and buying cars. (It really sounds more like taking the blue pill, but okay, Elon.)

Ivanka Trump, of course, was on board. Thankfully, Lilly bodied them both.
