Lil Yachty has big plans for 2024, as the 26-year-old rapper has announced Bad Cameo, his forthcoming collaborative album with James Blake.

Lil Boat posted an Instagram video on Tuesday (Feb. 13) explaining his admiration for the
“Mile High” artist and what they put together. “I think James has worked with a quite substantial amount of hip-hop artists,” he said. “But this project is just like—it’s so left. … For both of us.” He got ahead of the questions that would likely come with this collaborative album, owning up to the fact that people likely don’t think he and Blake are within the same sphere.

“Aside from the one picture James posted, which he doesn’t have many followers actually, I don’t think people even know we know each other exists,” he said about a photo of the two in a studio that circulated the internet in March 2023. The video closed with a graphic that reads “CMYK Presents Bad Cameo, a full length album by James Blake & Lil Yachty.” Check it out below.

Lil Yachty had a major 2023 with the success of his single “Strike (Holster).” He released several other singles as well, namely “The Secret Recipe” featuring J. Cole, “Gimme Da Lite,” “TESLA,” “Slide,” and many more.
