Lil Wayne is “praying” he gets that call to perform at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Weezy recently appeared on YG’s 4HUNNID podcast, where he was asked if he would perform at the 2025 Super Bowl if given the chance. The emcee took his glasses off and shot a “quit playing with me” look in response. He then admitted that he had been “praying” that they could begin talks because he would love to do the show in his hometown.

“I will not lie to you. I have not got a call or nothing. We praying. We keeping our fingers crossed. I’m working hard. I’mma make sure this next album and everything I do is killer,” he expressed. “I wanna just make it hard for them not to holler at the boy…I could be like [Rihanna]. RiRi came out there and just went from year to year to year to year to year.”

And Wayne isn’t the only one hoping he gets the call from Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and the NFL. Deion Sanders recently said he wants to see the Young Money boss as the Halftime Show headliner. The legendary NFL athlete took to X/Twitter on Sunday (Feb. 11) to throw his suggestion in the mix. “NFL, I fully expect Lil Wayne to be a part of the NFL Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans,” he typed. “Thank u in advance. Much Love, CoachPrime.”

As for Super Bowl LVIII, the big game became the most-watched television program of all time. According to Varietythe championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers drew in 123.4 million viewers. Of that number, 112 million people watched the CBS broadcast, which was a record for the network.

The remaining numbers of viewers were scattered across Paramount’s various networks and streaming platforms, including Paramount+, Univision, Nickelodeon CBS Sports, and NFL +.

And, if you’re wondering who won the championship game between the Chiefs and the Niners, it was Usher. But, for some reason, Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City walked away with the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Weird.
