Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz are one step closer to unleashing their joint Welcome 2 ColleGrove album. On Friday (Nov. 10), the veteran rappers revealed their next single and visual “Long Story Short,” a luxurious three-minute offering about living life to the fullest.

Directed by Maya Table, the clip is centered around Weezy and Tity Boi showing off their impressive cars — two Mercedes coupes. “Long Story Short” also boasts a sample of “Out There” by Project Pat.

Wayne handles the opening hook, spitting, “Wake up, light the blunt I put out ‘fore I fell asleep/ My b**ch look like she Cherokee, my crib look like I’m sellin’ keys/ My d*ck feel like some therapy, ’bout that life, I guarantee/ You livin’ life vicariously, this life gon’ be the death of me.”

2 Chainz then slides in with a verse about successfully balancing family life and business. “A+ off in parenting, get my kids damn near everything/ ‘Fore you get a wedding ring, better get her a** a belly ring/ Soon as I start trappin’, man, my phone, it wouldn’t even barely ring/ I don’t compete, but you can’t compete/ Plain Jane, Patek Phillippe/ I’m with my lady, we came to eat,” he raps.

The fan-favorite pair announced Welcome 2 ColleGrove will arrive on Nov. 17 and have treated fans with two singles, “Long Story Short” and “Presha.” The duo is also slated to hit the Jimmy Kimmel Live! stage next Monday (Nov. 13) to promote the LP.

The forthcoming album is the long-awaited sequel to ColleGrove, their first collaborative album that made landfall in 2016. ColleGrove represents Chainz’s hometown, College Park, Ga., and Wayne’s hometown, Hollygrove, La.
