Diddy could be facing some serious legal ramifications given the multiple sexual assault lawsuits he is battling and CNN recently sharing footage of him abusing Cassie Ventura in a hotel in 2016. He now also has to worry about a potential fight with Lil Scrappy if the two artists encounter one another.

“If that ni**a Diddy walked past me right now, I’d take the fade with him,” the 40-year-old rapper said in a video on Monday (May 20). “Just ’cause… I don’t care about no apology and all that… The way he did shawty, that was foul. That was some real bi**h sh*t. And you could tell he was doing that sh*t for a long time, ’cause she was frantic.”

The Atlanta rapper was one of many people to react to the traumatic footage. The mogul is seen grabbing his ex-girlfriend by the neck and throwing her to the ground before kicking her twice in a now-closed Los Angeles hotel in March 2016. He also attempted to drag her back to their room and was later seen throwing objects at her.

Diddy reacted to the footage in an apology video posted on Instagram on Sunday (May 19). “It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life,” he said. “Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f**ked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”

The Bad Boy founder’s apology did more harm than good, especially when people reflected on his December 2023 statement where he denied all allegations against him in his many lawsuits. “There’s absolutely nothing genuine about that apology video Diddy just dropped,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Even after Diddy settled Cassie’s lawsuit he was still denying the allegations and insisting folk were lying on his character but now we’re supposed to buy that he’s been taking ownership of it.”

“Diddy’s apology is very disingenuous to me,” another user wrote. “Back in Dec he put out that statement basically saying he didn’t do anything he was accused of. These are things manipulators do and say tho..”

The timing of CNN releasing the hotel footage was also juxtaposed with Diddy’s son, King Combs, releasing a diss track aimed at 50 Cent where he taunted Homeland Security for missing one of his father’s homes during their raids.

“Count bandos in my Gucci sandals, these ni**as is sick/ Probably hatin’ ’cause we rich, he must think we f**ked his bi**h/ Knocked them walls down like when them feddy boys ran in both of our cribs/ Too bad they ain’t know we bought the one next door ’cause that’s the one they missed/ How y’all talkin’ like a ni**a time up?/ Throwin’ shade get your shines up/ Askin’ where my pop’s at, he on a G6 gettin’ a line up/ All you pu**y a** ni**as line up,” he rapped.
