Lil Nas X's Brother Says Singer Helped Him Come Out as Bisexual and 'Opened Doors for a Lot of People'

"He helped me be real with myself. My brother made me more open to it," Tramon Hill reportedly said in the new documentary 'Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero'

Lil Nas X's outspoken nature in regards to his sexual identity has impacted many members of the LGBTQ+ community — including his own brother.

The "Industry Baby" musician's new documentary Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend, and Entertainment Weekly reported the movie finds his brother opening up about how the performer inspired him to come out as bisexual.

"My brother really opened doors for a lot of people," Hill reportedly says in the film. "Yeah, he opened a door for me. What I mean by that, like, I'm not gay, though, you feel me? I'm bisexual. He helped me be real with myself. My brother made me more open to it."

Hill reportedly told cameras he was concerned about how publicly coming to terms with his own sexuality could impact various relationships in his life. Ultimately, he was inspired by Lil Nas X, 24, to live his truth.

"If you f--- with me, you f--- with me. If you don't, you don't. Bye. Get out of my presence. I don't need you," said Hill, per EW, in the documentary.

He reportedly added, "At the end of the day, people are going to f--- with who they f--- with, so stop trying to chase a friend. A friend is going to always be there."

The film follows Lil Nas X on his Long Live Montero Tour and features footage of him in rehearsal, hanging with his large, boisterous family and meeting Madonna.

During its premiere on Saturday, the "Old Town Road" singer said he hopes viewers “get some realness from it because I'm always like, joking and trolling like 24/7," adding, "I hope they get a real side of me, and hopefully they love it."

Lil Nas X may have inspired his brother to come out, but the Grammy winner wasn't the first musician to embrace his sexuality in public. In an interview with Heavy earlier this year, he spoke about looking up to fellow queer pop star Adam Lambert for paving the way.

"I did thank him in person, actually. I really appreciate all the love that he’s shown me and I definitely don’t take it for granted. And I appreciate all the doors that him and people like him opened," said Lil Nas X at the time.

Lambert later responded to his comments during an episode of Watch What Happens Live. "That was very flattering that he even knows who I am," said the American Idol alum. "I think he’s such a rock star, and so bold and brave, and I love what he’s doing."
