Controversial artist, Lil Nas X, has teased his new single “J Christ” with a cover art showing him tied to a cross. Per press release, Nas stated, “My new single is dedicated to the man who had the greatest comeback of all time!”

Back in November, the “Panini” rapper teased that he was entering his “Christian era” on X with a snippet of an acoustic song. The clip showed LNX singing in a vehicle wearing a shirt that reads, “If God doesn’t exist then who’s laughing at u.”

He bellowed the lyrics, “Father stretch my hands, the lonely road seems to last the longest/ Help me with my plans, everything seems to go nowhere/ Oh free me from worry and wanting pity/ Free me from all this envy in me.”

Nas is no stranger to controversy and having the masses talking about his wild actions. He took to X last year to clap back at critics claiming his desire to do Christian music as a gimmick.

“Y’all see everything I do as a gimmick. When in reality I’m just an artist expressing myself in different ways,” he wrote. “Whether I’m a cowboy, gay, satanic, or now christian y’all find a problem! Y’all don’t police nobody else art like mine. Y’all hate me because I’m fun cute and petite.”

“Making Christian music does not mean I can’t suck d**k no more,” he said in another tweet.

His new single “J Christ” is set to release on Friday (Jan. 12) and will live on his forthcoming sophomore album.
