Lil Nas X teases new music, says he's entering his "Christian era"

It looks like Lil Nas X is ready to deliver new music to his fans. On Wednesday (Nov. 29), the genre-bending star took to Twitter to tease a new song in a short video. “Y’all mind if I enter my Christian era?” he asked in the description as the clip saw him singing about needing help from a higher power.
“Father, stretch my hands, the lonely road seems to last the longest, help me with my plans, everything seems to go nowhere, oh, free me from worry and wanting pity, free me from all this envy in me, I don’t want these feelings, I don’t want these feelings, I call on angels, I’m trying hard to face my pain, yeah, give me hope when I feel, give me hope when I feel less…”
Hours later, Lil Nas X shared additional tweets about his musical direction and how it won’t affect his private life. “Making Christian music does not mean I can’t suck d**k no more,” he clarified to his followers. “The two are not mutually exclusive. I am allowed to get on my knees for multiple reasons.”
The Georgia talent continued, “Y’all see everything I do as a gimmick when in reality I’m just an artist expressing myself in different ways. Whether I’m a cowboy, gay, satanic, or now Christian, y’all find a problem! Y’all don’t police nobody else’s art like mine. Y’all hate me because I’m fun, cute, and petite.”
After setting the music industry on fire with the record-breaking single “Old Town Road,” Lil Nas X kept his momentum going with the 2019 EP 7 and his debut album, MONTERO, which was released in 2021. The platinum-certified MONTERO consisted of 15 songs with collaborations alongside Doja Cat, Elton John, Megan Thee Stallion, Miley Cyrus, and Jack Harlow, the last of whom appeared on the chart-topping cut “INDUSTRY BABY.”
