Lil Kim Announces Comeback Tour This Summer With “Somebody Special”

Lil Kim is gearing up to hit the road on a massive comeback tour, and will be joined by a high-profile entertainer she feels will leave her fans rapt with anticipation.

On Tuesday (April 30), the Hip-Hop legend took to social media to announce that she’ll be sharing stages with a “major” figure, presumably one in the music world, although the she didn’t further specify.

“I got some sh*t for y’all this summer that y’all gonna be happy about,” she said in a clip filmed during a recent live appearance that surfaced on social media and was picked up by HipHopDX. “Oh my God. I’m going on a tour with somebody I love. Somebody [that’s] real special, somebody major. Y’all gonna be so happy.”

The Queen Bee has increased her visibility in recent years, making appearances at various award shows and tributes surrounding Hip-Hop’s 50th birthday. In April, she popped up at the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem, Ny. for the “Fat Joe And Friends” showcase, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of Terror Squad’s signature hit “Lean Back.”

The 49-year-old was part of a star-studded list of guest performers that included Tri-State Hip-Hop and R&B legends, Ashanti, Remy Ma, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Havoc, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, The LOX, and more.

In October, Kim gave a resounding performance during halftime of her hometown New York Liberty’s Game 3 matchup against the Las Vegas Aces in the 2023 WNBA Finals, serenading the crowd with her 2005 single “Lighters Up.”

Later that same month, she took the stage at ONE Music Fest in Atlanta, surprising the crowd with rapper/reality TV star Sukihana, who performed her popular track “Eating” after receiving a cosign from the female rap icon.

With Kim’s latest announcement, 2024 looks to be a comeback year of sorts for the beloved veteran, as she has an autobiography in the works, a deal with Adidas, and more.
