Lil Baby’s Memphis show earlier this month was shut down after an attendee opened fire and left another attendee injured. This week, police arrested the man suspected of being responsible for the shooting on multiple charges.
On Thursday (Sept. 28), USA TODAY reported that a 22-year-old named Kevin Young was taken into custody the previous day (Wednesday, Sept. 27) in connection with the shooting at FedExForum on Sept. 7. His charges include reckless endangerment and unlawful possession of weapons and drugs. Upon searching Young’s home following his arrest, the police found guns, ammunition, and drugs. His bond was reportedly set at $150,000. Two other men present at his home were arrested, though their charges are not related to the concert shooting.
“During the course of the investigation, (Young) was developed as the suspect responsible for the shooting at the FedExForum on September 7, 2023,” the Memphis Police Department said in a statement. They revealed that Kevin Young is a known member of the Rich and Ruthless gang and goes by the alias “Kata2tymes.”

After the shooting took place on Sept. 7, the victim was revealed to be Young Dolph’s cousin CEO Jizzle. He was rushed to Regional One Health and was in critical condition, but ultimately recovered. Jizzle took to his Instagram story to let everyone know that he was okay.
Lil Baby’s It’s Only Us Tour began in July with a stop in Houston and finished on Sept. 22 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. His tour, which featured GloRilla, Rylo Rodriguez, Gloss Up, and Hunxho, was a major topic of discussion as he was among several rappers who were canceling dates.
Originally, he was supposed to stop in Phoenix, San Diego, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Denver, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, and Louisville but shared an updated tour graphic with these 10 cities missing.
