Tanya Kach survived a decade of being locked in the cramped closet and bedroom of her middle school security guard, who kidnapped her when she was just 14.

Kach’s harrowing ordeal is now the focus of Lifetime’s upcoming Ripped from the Headlines movie, The Girl Locked Upstairs: The Tanya Kach Story, starring Robert Baker and Jordyn Ashley Olson.

Premiering this summer, the movie chronicles the shocking story of how Kach was groomed in 1995 by school security guard Tom Hose, who lured her to his McKeesport, Pa., home after grooming her at school.

For the next 10 years, Hose held her captive and sexually abused her. During that time, he locked her in his bedroom and threatened to kill her and her family if she resisted or fled.

Years into her ordeal, Hose allowed her to start working part-time at a local convenience store. That's when she found the courage to escape. The upcoming movie focusing on Kach's captivity and eventual escape will be executive produced by Elizabeth Smart.
