Lifetime Reveals New Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Royal Sequel

Lifetime has found its next Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, according to multiple reports.

Tiffany Marie Smith will be taking on the role of the Duchess of Sussex in Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal, a dramatization of the couple’s first years of marriage. Smith has previously appeared in Supernatural and Jane the Virgin. And there’s no denying that she bares a striking resemblance to 37-year-old Markle.

Taking the role of the royal redhead is Charlie Field, who has acting credits in Genius and the British series, Poldark.

The TV movie is a follow-up to last year’s hit, Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance. It starred Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser in the titular roles. That installment explored the couple’s first meeting, being set up by friends, their initial courtship and the blossoming relationship that captured the attention of the world.

The new film will presumably touch on the couple’s first royal engagements as husband and wife, including their trip to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in the fall of 2018. It’s also a safe bet that their pregnancy will be included.

Production on the film begins this month in Vancouver; it’s slated to premiere in the spring. Menhaj Huda will be directing and Scarlett Lacey wrote the script.
