'Life with Father'

Sep. 16—What does advocating for children and mystery dinner theaters have in common?

Family is the answer, if you are playing along.

And playing along is what Mark Ogle, a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) of Northeastern Oklahoma spokesperson and playwright, hopes many Claremore and area supporters will do come Friday and Saturday night, Sept. 22 and 23. The doors of the First Methodist Church open at 6 p.m. for another "whodunnit" fundraising dinner theater event.

"Life with Father" is an original play written by Ogle. The comedic play was first produced in Claremore on stage in 2011 by a local community theater group.

Ogle said this mystery theater piece is a family friendly comedy set in the early 1950s in the Wayne family's living room.

Attendees can expect to find, from the outside, the Wayne family appears to be your average American family. "But once you get to know them, they are anything but average," Ogle explained.

What secrets lurk behind their front door. Audience members will have the opportunity to use their deductive skills to solve the mystery and try and win the Super Sleuth Award.

Claremore First Methodist Church is located on 1615 Highway 88. Tickets are $40 (includes dinner and show) and the doors open nightly 6 p.m. For ticket reservations contact Ogle at mark@casaneok.org or 918-694-2510.

Proceeds benefit CASA of Northeast Oklahoma, a court-sanctioned child advocacy program serving northeastern Oklahoma children and families.

CASA recently celebrated a move to new office space at 1222 N. Florence Ave., Suite A, with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting and dedication of a Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative Foundation, Inc. Education/Training Room.
