Liam Payne and Cheryl Cole Expecting First Child Together
Sometimes, you just let your belly do the talking. After months of speculation, British singer Cheryl Cole has confirmed that she is expecting a child with One Direction heartthrob Liam Payne. Well … sort of.
The former X Factor judge, 33, stepped out with her 23-year-old boyfriend on Tuesday night wearing a tight dress that showed off what appears to be a baby bump. According to E!, she is pregnant and is in her second trimester.
Neither star has commented on the pregnancy reports; however, Cole first sparked rumors in September that she was expecting when her mother was spotted buying baby products.
Cole and Payne have known each other for years, since she was a judge when he first auditioned for the U.K. version of the singing show in 2008 at the age of 14. In 2010, he auditioned for X Factor again, which led to the formation of One Direction. The Sun broke news of their romance earlier this year.
The two have been dating since December and took their romance public this spring. Their relationship apparently began after Cole separated from her second husband, Jean-Bernard Fernandez Versini, last year. Payne found himself single around the same time when he split from his longtime girlfriend Sophia Smith in October 2015. This will be the first child for both singers.
Cole’s former Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberly Walsh also spilled the baby beans, telling Sunday People, “[Cheryl’s] really happy right now. And she’ll be a brilliant mum. She has loads of nieces and nephews, so she’s used to the madness of children.”
We’re sure Payne’s former bandmate Louis Tomlinson is equally excited about the news. He welcomed his first child in January 2016. We see many playdates in their future.
