Elsa Pataky, who's married to actor Chris Hemsworth, says that Liam "deserves more" than what he was getting out of his relationship with Cyrus.
Pataky was at a Women's Secret launch of "Kissmas Time" in Madrid when she spoke about Liam's troubles.
Seeking Help From the Family
According to Pataky, Liam is "discouraged."
“My brother-in-law, well, after a relationship where he dedicated 10 years, he’s discouraged… but he’s taking it well. He’s a strong guy and he deserves the best. I think he deserves much more.”
Pataky also says that Liam has looked for support from his brother, and Pataky's husband, Chris Hemsworth.
“Family is always there to protect you. He and his brother are so close and he’s really been there for him to give him the strength he needs," says Pataky.
Pataky had even more kind things to say about Liam.
“The truth is he is a doll, I adore him and he’s so handsome. I gotta say it. The best thing is his sense of humor. He makes the whole family laugh.”
Speaking of relationships, Pataky says even she and Chris have had their share of ups and downs.
“Like all couples, we have our ups and downs and our moments that we don’t agree on things. We just built a house together, which is almost enough to cause a divorce, but we made it through very well.”
Cyrus and Hemsworth were married for only a short time -- about seven months -- when Cyrus said in August that they were getting a divorce.
The two met 10 years ago during the making of The Last Song.
Three years later, Hemsworth proposed, but a year after that, Cyrus called things off, only to get back together in 2015. Then in December, 2018, they quietly got married in Franklin, Tennessee.
At the time their divorce was announced, Cyrus' rep told People:
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Cyrus, at least, appears to have moved on. She's been having a well-publicized relationship with Australian singer Cody Simpson.
But even those two have had to deal with rumors that they were breaking up.
Before Cyrus and Simpson hooked up, she had her another fling, with Kaitlynn Carter. Carter, in turn, was ending a relationship with her husband, Brody Jenner.
