Liam Hemsworth Breaks Silence, Wishes Miley Cyrus 'Happiness' Following Split

Liam Hemsworth is finally speaking out about his split with Miley Cyrus.

The 29-year-old Australian actor broke his silence late Monday night addressing the situation with the pop star head on.

Sharing a portrait of the beach at sunset, Liam wrote to fans, "Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated."

He added, "I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward."

Liam also addressed several stories that have been circulating on what actually went down with the couple, who were only married for less than one year.

"This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets," he wrote. "Any reported quotes attributed to me are false."

The actor signed off, "Peace and Love."

His response on the breakup comes just hours after he dodged questions regarding the split.

The youngest Hemsworth brother was in Byron Bay, Australia on Monday and when asked about the separation, Liam told the Daily Mail Australia, "You don't understand what it's like," and "I don't want to talk about it, mate."

Based on his response and statement he's clearly not in the mood to discuss his relationship or his wife locking lips with Brody Jenner's ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, while on vacation in Capri.

As far as Miley, she alluded to their breakup over the weekend.

Sharing several photos showing her hiking and comparing the ever-changing environment to her own life.

It's also reported that she's currently living on their ranch in a "bachelorette pad," which isn't far from their Malibu home that burned down in the Woolsey Fire last year.
