The second annual GQ Global Creativity Awards featured a bevy of high-profile stars in attendance Thursday night in New York City. The awards ceremony honored artistic visionaries and pioneers whose work and contributions are pushing the culture forward.
For the event, a number of stars fashioned designer looks that complemented each individual’s respective style and fashion sensibility. An array of fabrics, fashion labels and textual designs were on full display on the red carpet — or, in this event’s case, purple carpet. Major designers and fashion labels featured included Marni, Dior, and Retrofête.

Hunter Schafer
Hunter Schafer wore a custom Marni dress for the GQ Global Creativity Awards. The “Cuckoo” star’s look featured textual elements hand-painted onto the fabric, evocative of the work by Vincent van Gogh. Schafer was styled by Dara.
Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton fashioned a look from the Dior Men’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection, which featured a long suit coat with subtle pinstripes and glittering embellishment at the waistline. The ensemble is from the first full line of haute couture for men by Kim Jones, inspired by ballet dancer and choreographer Rudolf Nureyev’s personal wardrobe.
Taylor Rooks
Journalist Taylor Rooks looked elegant in an embellished military green dress by Retrofête. She kept her accessories simple with minimal jewelry.
Erykah Badu
Singer and songwriter Erykah Badu made a statement in a look by Marni. The ensemble featured a voluminous skirt with black and yellow streaked details, a black and white trenchcoat and statement hat in red, white and black. Badu also paired the look with gloves.
Among the boundary-pushing, culture-shaping attendees at the event were comedian Danny McBride, composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The event was hosted by JB Smoove.
