'Letters to Santa,' a new Hallmark Christmas movie, stars a RI fourth grader. How to watch

A Rhode Island girl will play a key role in a new Hallmark Christmas movie, premiering Friday, Nov. 24, at 6 p.m.

Taylor Pezza, a fourth grader from East Greenwich, plays Izzy in the movie "Letters to Santa," a new holiday film not to be confused with Hallmark's 2018 film "Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa."

In the movie, two siblings – one of whom is Pezza's character, Izzy – "receive a magic pen from Santa that appears to be granting wishes," according to the Hallmark plot synopsis. "They request a Christmas gift they want more than anything – for their separated parents to reunite."

The movie was filmed in Worcester in April, according to posts on the Taylor Pezza Instagram account.

"I can not be more excited for this," a post announcing the film reads. " I hope you all watch this adorable Christmas movie!"

Who stars in 'Letters to Santa'?

Katie Leclerc, who starred in the ABC Family show "Switched at Birth," plays the mother, Rebecca. She also has a recurring role in the "Big Bang Theory" as one of the girlfriends of Raj Koothrappali.

Opposite Leclerc, Rafael de la Fuente, who has appeared in "Dynasty," "Empire" and "When We Rise" plays the father, Enrique.

In the film, the brother of Pezza's character is played by Kellen Raffaelo. This is the pair's second time as on-screen siblings. They were also brother and sister in the 2022 short film "Curious Creatures."

When can you watch 'Letters to Santa' on Hallmark?

Show times are subject to change, but according to Hallmark's website, this is their schedule for airing the movie beyond Friday's premiere:

  • Saturday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 8 p.m.

  • Sunday, Dec. 3, at 10 p.m.

  • Friday, Dec. 8, at 2 a.m.

  • Monday, Dec. 18, at 4 p.m.

  • Sunday, Dec. 24, at 6 a.m.

  • Thursday, Dec. 28, at 8 p.m.
