LETTER: Critical race theory used to promote atrocities
Atrocities in the 20th Century:
1) From 1915 to 1916: The Armenian Genocide. An estimated one million Christian Armenians were murdered by Muslim Turks. The word “genocide” was coined to describe the horrors of this atrocity.
2) From 1939 to 1945: The Holocaust. Twelve million Jews, Roma, Slavs and others were systematically murdered by the self-proclaimed master race, the Germans.
3) From April to July 1994: The Rwandan Massacre. An estimated one million Tutsis, an ethnic minority, were murdered by the Hutus, the ethnic majority in Rwanda.
While separated by many decades, these crimes against humanity have one thing in common: Every one of them were justified by homicidal fanatics using the principles and concepts of critical race theory (CRT).
The Muslim Turks marginalized Christian Armenians as expendable infidels, the “Aryan” Germans demonized their victims as being racially inferior and systemically evil, and the Hutus dismissed their Tutsi victims as being less than human.
The core principle of CRT is that certain groups are, by definition, intrinsically evil; therefore, they are not human beings. Despite its bloody history, CRT is being actively promoted in America today.
Recently, the Florida Board of Education passed a rule which banned teaching CRT in the classroom; yet, the Florida Education Association, a union which represents teachers across the state, opposed the new rule. Why?
Americans must be on high alert to stop this toxic poison. As the philosopher George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." Fellow Americans, we dare not forget!
