Leslie Jones embarrassingly mistook Dustin Hoffman for Al Pacino

Leslie Jones stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and told the story of the embarrassing moment she met Dustin Hoffman … and called him Al Pacino.

Jones said she felt stupid, but it’s a fairly common mistake, according to Pacino. In a 2014 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Pacino said he’s confused for Hoffman and Robert De Niro “all the time.” Pacino believes it has to do with all three coming out of the ’70s.

“We’re all part of that thing. I think sometimes that gets confusing,” Pacino told the Times.

Jones said she obviously hadn’t realized she’d made a mistake as she was gushing over Hoffman, calling him “Mr. Pacino” and telling him how long she’d been watching him.

Jones imagined what Hoffman must have been thinking, saying, “He was just looking at me like, ‘Queen Latifah be trippin’.’”
