Leonardo DiCaprio has donated $1 million to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, joining the likes of Beyoncé and Sandra Bullock who have given substantial gifts to support victims of the disaster. DiCaprio's contribution acts as "the inaugural donation to the newly established United Way Harvey Recovery Fund," according to Variety.

Earlier this week, Bullock donated $1 million to the relief efforts of the American Red Cross. "There are no politics in eight feet of water," she told People. "There are human beings in eight feet of water."

On Tuesday, the Houston Chronicle reported that Houston native Beyoncé would be working to give and raise money for flood relief victims.

"My heart goes out to my hometown, Houston, and I remain in constant prayer for those affected and for the rescuers who have been so brave and determined to do so much to help," she said. "I am working closely with my team at BeyGOOD as well as my pastor (Rudy Rasmus at St. John's in downtown Houston) to implement a plan to help as many as we can."

Meanwhile, Kris Jenner announced that she and her daughters would be donating $500 thousand to relief efforts. The Rock put the call out for Red Cross donations via his Instagram. Other celebrities like Oprah, Lady Gaga, and Drake promised an undisclosed amount. The Houston Rockets and Houston Astros also both pledged $4 million.

Additionally, Solange, Fall Out Boy and Bun B have all planned separate benefit concerts. Solange, who anchored a number of music festivals this summer, will perform a benefit show at Orpheum Theatre with Sun Ra Arkestra in Boston on September 28. "I will be doing a special 'Orion's Rise' show in Boston, and ALL proceeds will go towards Hurricane Harvey relief," she said on Instagram. "I'm committed to partnering with organizations on the ground in Houston and making contributions to uplift the city that raised me with so much love. See you September 28th Boston, I thank you in advance for making this a special, meaningful night!"
