Lenny Kravitz Goes Full Rock Star in a Suit and No Shirt at 2024 People's Choice Awards

The musician will receive the Music Icon Award at the 2024 People's Choice Awards

Lenny Kravitz was ready for his close-up at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.

The musician, 59, is being honored tonight with the music icon award. Additionally, he'll perform a medley of songs from his legendary catalog. But before he hit the stage for this meaningful moment, the rocker made a fashion statement on the red carpet.

Kravitz wore a suit featuring a blazer with dramatic shoulders and one sleeve, and skipped a shirt. He accessorized with a chainmail necklace and oversize sunglasses.

Kravitz is a pro at looking effortlessly cool. Attending the 2024 Critics’ Choice Awards in a custom Laquan Smith double-breasted jacket, the “Again” singer showed off his fit physique in the cutout design. He paired the suit with tinted Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, tons of necklaces and a chain belt.

His Critics’ Choice ensemble echoed his Golden Globes outfit the prior week, where he wore an Alexander McQueen jumpsuit that also bared his chest and sides. Of his trademark silhouette, he told KTLA 5, “I don't have many shirts. You know, I live in the Bahamas. I keep it kind of basic.”

The star added, “I just throw on the jacket and the pants. Keep it easy.”

Although he is now known for the plunging neckline jackets and all-black apparel, Kravitz has had several iconic looks throughout his career. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the multi-instrumentalist dissected his fashion choices across decades, including his “big scarf moment” in 2012.

"I was going to the market, just to get some groceries. Didn’t think I’d be seeing anybody. It was cold, and yes, I own that big scarf that I had made for me," Kravitz explained. "It has become the meme and symbol and representation of cold weather coming."
