LEGO is helping you add a little nostalgia to your holiday season by way of a massive megastructure modeled after “Home Alone.” Released November 1, the LEGO Ideas Home Alone set features nearly 4,000 pieces, including tiny figurines of the main characters in the ‘90s classic about an 8-year-old boy who outsmarts burglars after his family accidentally leaves him home alone for Christmas.

The LEGO Ideas Home Alone set is packed with details from the movie, such as the after-shave scene that left Kevin McCallister screaming in the bathroom, the robbers’ van, paint cans used to knock them down, Buzz’s pet tarantula, Kevin’s treehouse (zipline included), and everything you need to stage a fake Christmas party (like Kevin did in the film).

Other key features include a Christmas tree, fireplace, a basement furnace with a LEGO light brick, toy train, grandfather clock, dining table, and record player. Included in the set are 11″ minifigures of Kevin, robbers Harry and Marv, neighbor “Old Man” Marley, and Kevin’s mother, Kate McCallister.

The LEGO design is split into 24 Advent calendar–esque bags, which allow you to piece the house together in sequence with the movie’s plot.

Designed for ages 18 and older, the LEGO Ideas Home Alone set was constructed from a fan design submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform by Alex Storozhuk, a 28 year old from Ukraine and fan of the film. “Just like every ‘90s kid, I grew up watching ‘Home Alone’ and it takes a very special place in my heart. I can’t even imagine holidays without it. This movie is very nostalgic and makes those warm childhood memories come up every time,” Storozhuk said in a press release.

With a total of 3,955 pieces, the set is the largest structure created from a LEGO Ideas concept. Between instantly recognizable pieces that perfectly capture the McCallister family home and details that recreate Kevin’s unforgettable holiday shenanigans, the LEGO Ideas Home Alone set stays true to the movie both inside and out. The structure includes the ground and second floor of the home, as well as the basement and attic. The house opens at the top for full access, and the walls separate in the middle to open sideways for full access to the interior.

“Following the themes of the film, we wanted to make the experience as immersive as possible for fans of LEGO building and the movie,” explained LEGO’s Antica Bracanov, who created the final structure from Storozhul’s design. “The step-by-step build which mirrors the movie, and the ability to open up the set and see inside lends itself well to hours of joyful focus this holiday season – just add a festive backdrop and a certain Christmas movie!”

Apart from being a great gift for ’90s babies, building the LEGO Home Alone set could make for a fun group activity to get you in the holiday spirit. For more holiday gift ideas, see our roundup of best Advent calendars for movie and TV lovers, and tips for formulating your Black Friday game plan.
