Performing once at Lauridsen Amphitheater wasn’t enough for country legend Willie Nelson.

He’s returning to Des Moines in May at Water Works Park almost a year after his concert there in June 2023.

The Texas born award-winning musician has captivated audiences with his music for decades with songs including “Highwayman,” “On the Road Again” and “Always on My Mind.” Nelson, 90, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year.

Nelson is no stranger to Iowa in recent years, performing at Wells Fargo Arena in 2018 and headlining Hinterland Music Festival in 2016.

Now, he returns on May 25 at Water Works Park, located at 2251 George Flagg Pkwy., as part of the Willie Nelson & Family tour with stops in Wisconsin, Nebraska and Minnesota.
