Legendary Actress Shirley MacLaine Shared the Refreshing Way She Celebrated Her 90th Birthday

The ever-so-iconic, the ever-so-cool Shirley MacLaine is 90 years old. This past week, the acting icon turned 90, and did two majorly cool things to celebrate the impressive age.

In a super-rare interview with People, MacLaine talked about how she made her 90th birthday special: with a refreshingly low-key celebration and a memoir on the way.
MacLaine first talked about the plans she had the day of April 24: an intimate dinner with pals. “We’re getting together and I hope to eat something good,” she said.
Along with that, she’s releasing a photo book called The Wall of Life, which will be out on Oct 22, 2024, which will feature hundreds of images from her personal archives. (Which means most, if not all, of these pics are never-before-seen from the public!)
“I have lived a wonderful life and I wanted to share it. All of the photos brought back such wonderful memories,” she said, talking about how it started as a wall of photos she had in her living room that guests were enchanted by. “Everyone who came over loved to look at this montage, and so The Wall of Life was born. I’m pleased to share a selection of these photos — and some of the stories behind them — in this book.”
And along with this book, she’s not stopping anytime soon with her Tinseltown roles! In another intevriew with People, she revealed that at 90 years old, she’s more grateful than ever.
Not only is she grateful “that I can keep working,” but “I have my friends and I am really healthy.”
Truly, we love to hear this, and we can’t wait for her new book!
