The Legend of Shen Li Ep 9 Recap & Spoilers: Lin Gengxin Heals Zhao Liying

The ongoing Xianxia C-drama The Legend of Shen Li released episode 9 on March 21, 2024. The drama features Lin Gengxin and Zhao Liying in the lead roles. The episode focuses on Shen Li (Zhao Liying) and Xing Zhi’s (Lin Gengxin) bond getting stronger. Furthermore, Mo Fang (Xin Yun Lai) wishes to serve Xing Zhi as his guide, but Xing Zhi turns him down. He says he only wants Shen Li to be his companion while he stays in the immortal realm. Shen Li can sense the growing tension between her two suitors.

Xing Zhi does not want anyone to know about his closeness to Shen Li. He erases the memory of the soldier who had seen them together. Using his spiritual powers, Xing Zhi treats Shen Li. She asks him about the secret of the Xutian Abyss. A thousand years ago, Xing Zhi left four items as the secondary seal of the abyss. Xing Zhi still remembers where he left them and reveals the locations to Shen Li.

Meanwhile, Shen Li feels attraction towards Xing Zhi as he reminds her of Xingyuan, the mortal form of Xing Zhi she fell in love with. She knows that they are two completely different entities, but she is not able to control her thoughts. Xing Zhi asks her to show him around in the afternoon.

Shen Li takes Xing Zhi to the forest close to the abyss. Her kind nature is revealed when she stops Xing Zhi from burning a piglet infected with miasma. Their ideologies about life differ from one another. Xing Zhi likes to take control of a situation before it escalates, and Shen Li, on the other hand, thinks life would be boring without dangers.

In episode 9 of The Legend of Shen Li, Xing Zhi saves the dying forest using his magical power and healing properties. Shen Li is impressed as Xing Zhi restores the forest seal and uses the moonlight to clear the miasma from the forest. Xing Zhi gives her a leaf from the Xutian Abyss that possesses the element of vitality. Shen Li wants to create a future where the kids can live freely without worrying about anything.

Meanwhile, Mo Fang grows anxious as Shen Li and Xing Zhi have not yet come back from the mountains. He is jealous of their growing closeness. To a close companion, he reveals how much he likes Shen Li. After returning to the base, Shen Li thanks Xing Zhi. Mo Fang can sense Shen Li’s interest in Xing Zhi. He asks Shen Li to keep her composure and reminds her that Xing Zhi and Xingyan are not the same entity.

Using the distant shadow technique, Mu Yue visits Shen Li. She orders her to return to the royal palace, but Shen Li is not ready to listen to her. Mu Yue requests Xing Zhi that she will send him another general. Xing Zhi requests her to let Shen Li stay at the base for the time being.
