The Legend of Shen Li Ep 16 Recap & Spoilers: Did Lin Gengxin Acknowledge His Feelings for Zhao Liying?

The ongoing Xianxia C-drama The Legend of Shen Li released episode 16 on March 26, 2024. It features Lin Gengxin and Zhao Liying in the main roles. This episode focuses on Xing Zhi (Lin Gengxin) acknowledging having feelings for Shen Li (Zhao Liying). Xing Zhi and Shen Li come out of the palace after resolving the issue in the forest. They get into a minor disagreement over who should be punishing the culprit. Shen Li thinks that Xing Zhi is careless, but she also admires his quality of standing up for his beliefs.

Xing Zhi is rigid when it comes to matters involving the divine realm. The two agree to hold a joint trial. Xing Zhi uses his spiritual powers to travel to the Fusheng sect, where the diviners are being kept in captivity. Shen Li and Xing Zhi’s approaches toward the enemies are completely different. Xing Zhi does not agree with Shen Li’s habit of tormenting her enemies. He advises her not to practice violence. Shen Li requests Xing Zhi to help her clear the names of the immortals at the trial.

Shen Li bravely fights Fu Sheng, an evil sorcerer, and his army and takes them down single-handedly. But she is shocked after she sees General Zixia, one of her trusted companions, who passed away on the battlefield, fighting for the enemy side. Meanwhile, Xing Zhi frees the diviners from captivity and comes looking for Shen Li.

He finds Shen Li lying on the floor, heavily injured. Using his spiritual powers, Xing Zhi freezes the enemies and heals Shen Li. Furong sees Xing Zhi carrying Shen Li in his arms and decides to follow them.

Furong is surprised at how she received so many fatal injuries. Xing Zhi asks him to perform a purification process and tries to treat her. Furong opens up about how he feels about Shen Li. He thinks that her resilient nature makes it hard for him to feel any sort of compassion towards her. Xing Zhi disagrees and tells him that he thinks Shen Li has that kind of charm, but only in front of the right person.

In episode 16 of The Legend of Shen Li, a day and a night pass, but Shen Li is still unconscious. Xing Zhi tells Furong that he wants to spend some time alone with Shen Li. Lin Gengxin takes Shen Li in his arms and keeps her warm. He does not like seeing her injured. Furthermore, he admits to not noticing his feelings for her at first, but after he realizes it, he finds it itchy and painful. But he is not afraid anymore. Shen Li finally wakes up.

The first thing she asks after waking up is whether they caught the culprit or not. She tells Xing Zhi that she never suffered so much, be it in private or on the battlefield, until she met him. Xing Zhi promises to take responsibility for her wounds.
