'Legally Blonde JR.' caps Rosarian fine arts director Bob Sherman's 24 years at school

Bob Sherman, the director of fine arts at Rosarian Academy, ended his 24-year career at the school this month by leading students through a production of the musical "Legally Blonde JR."

The show featured a cast and crew of 34 students in grades four through eight during its performances April 26 and 27 on Rosarian's campus along Flagler Drive.

“Words cannot express how proud I am of all the students I have taught and the amazing productions we have created together," Sherman said as the show dates approached. "From my very first show, 'Bye Bye Birdie,' to now, I have been blown away by the talent and work ethic of the students and the incredible support of the parents, faculty and staff, and community.”

"Legally Blonde, JR." is an upbeat musical following the adventures of a sorority girl named Elle Woods who tries to win her ex-boyfriend back by earning a Harvard law degree. It is based on the book by Amanda Brown and the MGM picture starring Reese Witherspoon.

The musical was produced and directed by Bob Sherman, with musical direction by Gay Dedo, choreography by Jeanne Bennett, set and light design by Dave Ullom, sound design by Misael Valera Jr., and costume design by Jeanne Bennett, Illiana Beauchamp (Class of 2020), and Dee O’Cleppo Hilfiger and Tommy Hilfiger.
