What A Legal Analyst Says About Police Bodycam Footage Of Idaho Student Murders Suspect

The murders of four university students in Moscow, Idaho in November 2022, remained a mystery for nearly seven weeks. Then, on December 30, 2022, armed with evidence, including a DNA sample from the crime scene, cell phone records, and surveillance of their suspect’s activities, law enforcement officers arrested 28-year-old Bryan Kohberger at his parent’s home in eastern Pennsylvania. At the time of the murders, Kohberger was a Ph.D. candidate studying criminal justice and criminology at the University of Washington, just a few miles from where three of the four victims lived. Two weeks before his arrest, Kohberger was pulled over twice in Indiana – allegedly for tailgating – while driving across the country with his father. State Police body cameras recorded his interactions with authorities. Watching the footage, Mercedes Colwin, a trial attorney and legal analyst, comments, “His affect was a little strange.” Continuing, she says, “You can see that his affect was, ‘I’m not comfortable; I don’t want to continue this exchange. I just want to continue driving.’” Watch the bodycam recording from Kohberger’s first encounter with Indiana State Police in the video above. Part one of this two-part Dr. Phil,“Eerie Details About the Idaho Murders Suspect,” airs Thursday. Then on Friday’s conclusion, “Idaho Murders Suspect: Childhood Details Revealed,” Forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan, Former FBI Special Agent Jonathan Gilliam, and Sr. Reporter for DailyMail.com Caitlyn Becker, along with Mercedes Colwin, help Dr. Phil analyze recently revealed details about Kohberger’s past.
