LeBron James's Surprisingly Intimidating Charity Tactics

King James stopped by The Daily Show on Wednesday and shared the unusual tactics he uses to help the kids involved with his charities. One of the groups, Wheels for Education, transports children to and from school and helps to ensure they graduate from high school.

The organization has the LeBron James touch. If a student misses class, they get a recorded message from James encouraging them to go to school. When they’re falling behind, they get a similar message. This approach can backfire, though. A phone message from a superstar like LeBron James is a coveted items, and some students had skipped school just to get the call. James explained, “I know kids that would try to get slick and try to miss a couple of days at school because they want the message from LeBron James. So I showed up to school and was like, ‘Listen I know what you’re trying. I was a kid at one point too.'”

The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. on Comedy Central.
