LeBron James Had the Cutest Text Exchange With His Mom After Setting Triple-Double Record
LeBron James added to his growing list of records and achievements after putting on an amazing athletic performance and once again cementing himself in NBA history. King James helped lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a dominating victory Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to win 112 - 107.
Along with his W, LeBron scored his fifth triple-double this season and the first player in NBA history to record a triple-double against all 30 teams in the league.

Always humble about his accomplishments, LeBron said news of the record was a huge surprise.
"I had no idea," James told ESPN after the win. He explained that "Coach Vogel came in here and said congratulations. I was like, I thought he was joking about my seven turnovers because I've been taking care of the ball so much. He said first player in NBA history to have a triple-double versus 30 teams, every team, so I was like, 'OK. That's pretty cool.'"
Love from Mom
Shortly after the game, LeBron shared a text message from his mom, Gloria James, congratulating her son on the feat.
"Congratulations kid! on being the 1st player in the league history to score a triple double against all the teams in the league!!! You are the GOAT. You should celebrate tonight. Love you."
The NBA star responded with love and thanks for his mom, and even dropped a famous line from Tupac Shakur.
"Aww mama!!! Thank you so much!!! You're the GOAT In all actuality for raising me the way you did and everything you did for me. Like 2pac said "Against All Odds." Love you too!
LeBron added some more praise to his mom in the caption of his Instagram post, writing "Love you Mama!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Words can’t express how much I do. You’re simply INCREDIBLE."
Gloria James
Gloria James was 16 years old when she gave birth to her only son, LeBron. His father was not in the picture so the future NBA star took his mother's last name of James. On Christmas morning in 1987, LeBron's grandmother died of a heart attack, and Gloria was left to fend for herself and her 3-year-old son on her own. LeBron wrote about the situation back in 2014 when he wrote a tribute to his mother:
"We lost the house. We moved around from place to place—a dozen times in three years. It was scary. It was catch as catch can, scraping to get by. My mom worked anywhere and everywhere, trying to make ends meet. But through all of that, I knew one thing for sure: I had my mother to blanket me and to give me security. She was my mother, my father, my everything. She put me first. I knew that no matter what happened, nothing and nobody was more important to her than I was. I went without a lot of things, but never for one second did I feel unimportant or unloved."
He has continued to show devotion to his mother over the years and admitted that she is responsible for his success in the NBA.
"People always say I am devoted to my mother. That’s true, but only because for every minute of my life, she has been devoted to me. My mother taught me what devotion truly means. I have tried to pass along her example by helping kids who are growing up in single-parent homes through the LeBron James Family Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America."
